(video interview and raw footages of street battles)

The Kabataang Makabayan-Lucille Gypsy Zabala Brigade (Metro Manila) extends its revolutionary salute to the youths and residents of Brgy. Corazon de Jesus, San Juan City for their valiant and unyielding struggle to defend their homes as manifested in the brutal demolition staged last 11 January 2012.

The status quo-shaking battle in San Juan has shown the fierceness of the mass movement. It is the image, if not, the epitome of class struggle in the urban. The people’s barricade was not just pieces of conjoined woods. It was the symbol of resistance of the toiling masses against the rotten system, the stalwart expression of the brave sons and daughters of Andres Bonifacio who are now continuing the unfinished revolution.

To the youths who have unwaveringly battled in the forefront of the people’s barricade, we give our highest praises. Your show of bravery to struggle even beyond the barricades against the fascist and mercenary elements of the state enlivens the blaze of the Kabataang Makabayan in its historic place in advancing the national democratic revolution in the country.

Despite the dangers of the brutality of the state against the urban poor dwellers, none of you ceased to let the enemy come in closer which have put the ruling classes against the wall. You have fought for the noble intention to defend people’s democratic rights and interests and for that, you have shown how the best in the youth can emerge.

The battle in San Juan has marked that 2012 will be the year of the revolutionary mass movement. This fearless forecast is based on our scientific analysis on the system. As class struggle intensifies, the people will certainly choose the revolutionary path, and indisputable truth that the ruling class can never bend.

Intensifying mass struggles and campaigns is the breeding ground of the exponential advances, quantitatively and qualitatively, of the revolutionary urban mass movement. We have already entered the third year of our five-year plan and we have gained numerous achievements. Like how you dared not to be bound by the barricade in the demolition and bring the fight closer to the enemy, the people’s war has also advanced towards achieving the strategic stalemate. We are now bringing the people’s war closer to the enemy.

The anti-people projects of the Aquino administration such as the Public Private Partnership program is now being pushed through on a more brutal and unrelenting manner. Metro Manila is being swarmed by PPP projects that results to the massive demolition of half a million Filipinos mainly in Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Navotas, Caloocan, Manila, Parañaque, among others. PPP is the grand plan of US imperialism to save itself from the heavier blows of the global financial crisis and to retain its supremacy as the superpower of the world. Bureaucrat capitalists and local bourgeoisies are now more exposed than ever by being the executor of the projects at the expense of the people.

To finish the projects on time or even earlier, the US-Aquino regime will mobilize the elements of the state to ensure this through counterinsurgency. As patterned to the 2009 US Counterinsurgency Guide, while retaining fascism as the forefront of their counterinsurgency program, the state will mobilize its agencies and even non-government organizations (NGOs) to divert the masses towards joining liberation and revolutionary movements across the globe.

In the case of urban poor dwellers, the Department of Social Welfare and Development and connected NGOs are mobilized and funded by US imperialism to lead people to reformist and anti-revolutionary ideals such as housing projects that are, in essence, profit-oriented and avenues of greater corruption.

JV Ejercito, Guia Gomez and Erap Estrada are greedy collaborationists with the US-Aquino regime and they have unveiled their fascist characteristics as lapdogs of the imperialists and big compradors. The projects to be built in San Juan include a lavish city hall with a helipad, condominium, commercial center and parking lot where included in the business partners is a mall and banking magnate. The ambitious project of the Ejercitos, how much they want to say that it is a government project, is slowly disclosing that it is part of Aquino’s centerpiece project – PPP.

As we expose the true colors of the local bourgeoisie, we can and must maximize the split between the ruling classes to draw the national democratic line and 12-point program that the people need. Amidst the political turmoil, it is necessary for the revolutionary youths to expose the rift among the elites and explain to the masses that they are one in oppressing the people and they are just grandstanding people’s issues to get the sympathy of the masses such as the case of the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona and Cong. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

That is why it is just and legitimate to establish the People’s Barricade in every community and city where there is a threat of demolition and oppression. We are officially declaring war against the brutality of the state. Every community will be a war zone against the ruling class. The people have nothing to expect from the government. As said by Russian revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin, the natural characteristic of the state is to be the instrument of coercion run by the ruling class to ensure their supremacy and keep things according to their desire.

As we establish the People’s Barricade, it is important that we develop and increase the number of young communist cadres and grasp our task as the cutting edge and spearhead of the mass movement. By this, Kabataang Makabayan members are obliged to increase in number where there are concentration of youths especially in communities where young workers, students, out-of-school youths are seen in the direst conditions and oppression.

As we develop young communist cadres, it is essential that members of the Kabataang Makabayan are well-versed in all issues and analyses and this will be done by conducting vast ideological discussions among our ranks and with the masses. Marxist-Leninist-Maoist studies are vital for the upsurge in the revolutionary urban mass movement, study movements should be done in all forms and levels. This is very indispensable for the propaganda movement that will be able to galvanize the marching columns that we want to progress. Above all, we must look back to the four major tasks of the Kabatang Makabayan.

We must also take note that the People’s Barricade will not suffice to answer the democratic aspirations of the toiling masses but through armed revolution. With this, we call on for the colossal deployment of cadres and masses to the countryside where the People’s War have been gaining victories. Joining the New People’s Army, being the true army of the people, is the only resort of the masses to topple the system that has shackled them in oppression. It is very uplifting for those in the countryside to hear that while you are throwing rocks, bottles and Molotov cocktails against the mercenary policemen and even when the clash has subsided, you are shouting that the fight continues, be it in another round of battle or in the countryside.

We will never let the criminals and mercenaries leave unscathed after this. We warn them of the elephant memory of the revolution, the People’s Court will decide. Everyone who has lifted a finger in the execution of this brutality will cripplingly pay for their crimes.

Long live the struggling masses!
Long live the continuing revolution of Andres Bonifacio!
Exert all means to contribute in the advancement of the People’s War!
Join the New People’s Army!
